Celebrating Black History Month and Edinburgh900

This October , we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate two landmark occasions Edinburgh 900, marking the city’s rich history, and Black History Month, honouring the contributions and culture of the African and Caribbean diaspora. The event was a true community-led initiative, bringing people together through football, music, dance, poetry, and fun games—all in the spirit of unity and celebration.

A Community Coming Together

We were proud to partner with Edinburgh 900 and Heart of Midlothian FC (Hearts FC), who played a key role in making the day a success. The event was a vibrant mix of activities designed to engage people of all ages and backgrounds, reinforcing the power of sport and culture in fostering connections.

A moment to Shine

Why it Mattered

This event was more than just a celebration—it was a statement. By combining Edinburgh’s 900-year legacy with Black History Month, we highlighted how diversity has always been part of the city’s story. The community-led approach ensured that everyone had a voice, making the day feel personal and meaningful.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers, performers, partners, and attendees who made this day unforgettable. Together, we proved that when we embrace culture, sport, and creativity, we build stronger, more connected communities.

Here’s to many more celebrations of unity, history, and joy!
